Dr. Rush, Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, began his ministry with us on Sunday, June 29, 2008. Prior to coming to Lubbock, Richard and his family served at First Baptist Church, El Paso, Texas; First Baptist Church, O'Donnell, Texas; and Parkway Drive Baptist Church, Lubbock, Texas. Before he served as pastor, Richard served in various ministry positions in Texas and Louisiana.

 

Richard holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene; a Master of Religious Education degree and a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth; and he completed his formal educational journey receiving a Doctor of Ministry degree from the George W. Truett Theological Seminary, Baylor University, Waco, Texas.
